Process

Initial Consultation

The design process begins with a dedicated J.R. Designs Interior Designer visiting your home to discuss your visions as well as a budget. At this time your designer will create a design agreement based on your scope of work. If you agree to the terms and would like to pay this fee your designer will then begin the formal design process. The design fee is credited towards your project upon contract signing.

Planning and Design

At the time the retainer is taken, your designer will schedule an appointment for our in-house architects to come to your residence to take appropriate measurements. Your designer will meet the architect and will begin the design phase by taking pictures and any extra notes they may need to create your design.

Design Phase

Within a few weeks or so, your designer will present you with conceptual drawings, initial selections, and a preliminary scope of work. At this time, you will refine your proposed drawings and scope of work. If you have any changes, discuss them with your designer and they will make the necessary revisions immediately.

Showroom Appointment

You will meet your designer at our showroom to choose final selections. This may involve multiple meetings and must be scheduled during normal business hours.

Final Assembly of your Project Proposal

After you have finalized your scope and approved your selections, your designer will take all of the information gathered and work closely with the estimation team to create your estimate. This may take a few weeks depending on the size of the project. After careful review with the estimators your designer will present you with your proposal.

Zero Defect and Buyout Phase

Once the contract is signed your designer will start to finalize all of your selections. The finalization of all design and material specifications is known as our zero defect phase. Upon completion of zero defect your job will then be turned over to accounting where it will go through our buyout phase.

Scheduling

Together we will agree upon a start and finish date of your project. Our scheduling and purchasing departments work to assure materials, labor, and equipment are secured and delivered on time to begin construction.

Construction

At this time you will be introduced to your project manager who will be working closely on your project. The project manager will organize all the appropriate trades and will assist them on getting your remodel done in a timely manner. They will constantly keep you informed so you will always know the status of your project.

Final Walk-Through

When your project is finished to our satisfaction, we make sure it exceeds your expectations. There will be a professional cleaning done as well as a final walk-though with you and your J.R. Designs team members. We wonít be satisfied until you are.
